Studied Political Sciences, Arts Management and Modern Turkish History at Bosphorus University, Istanbul Kültür University and Yıldız Technical University respectively. Involved in various dance contexts as a 'folk' dancer, choreographer and researcher since the mid 90's.
Gave lectures on modern Turkish history, history and sociology of performing arts and taught dance in different universities. In 2017, published a book on the history and politics of folk dance choreographies in Turkey. Writings have appeared in peer reviewed journals including Dance Chronicle and Dance Research.
Makes interdisciplinary studies of the choreographies in historical and socio-political contexts. Also works as dramaturg in Tümay Kılınçel's choreographies and other performative projects.
